Production Planner
Carson City, NV Carson City, NV Full-time Full-time $20 - $25 an hour $20 - $25 an hour 4 days ago 4 days ago 4 days ago Summary/Objective The Cable Connection a sister company of PrimeSource Building Produces is seeking a Production Planner and will be responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the company's needs for indirect materials and services, fixed assets and tooling, and select production materials and services.
These products and services are to be secured at cost quality and at delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and performance standards.
Essential Functions Manage inventory stock levels in conjunction with demand planning, suppliers and distribution partners to ensure adequate inventory is available to fulfill customer demand, while minimizing inventory costs.
Generate and track purchase orders to external suppliers as well as work orders for internal production using SAP ERP as defined by the Demand Planning Manager.
Perform various SAP system transactions including but not limited to purchase order entry, purchase order receiving, work order/open close, miscellaneous inventory and scrap.
Continuously analyze sales trends to make adjustments to planned inventory stock levels and provide inputs on optimum inventory levels for purchased parts.
Continuously review factory open orders, confirm and reschedule factory shipment promise dates as required, and communicate new orders, rescheduling requests, and confirmations directly with the factories or through our remote office personnel.
Understand critical inventory parameters (ABC, Safety Stock, Order Caps) taking into account constraints and input, such as lead time or order cycle time.
Monitor, track and report inventory levels and reconcile inventory variances using all available resources to identify root causes and possible solutions.
Provide visibility to product backorders, short stock, excess and/or slow-moving inventory.
Coordinate planning and action items to achieve and maintain prescribed inventory turn objectives with the goal of 100% on-time delivery to customers of conforming material at the most competitive total cost.
Interpret transportation and tariff regulations, shipping orders, safety regulations, and company policies and procedures to team members, and maintain the responsibility of US Customs Compliance.

Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent.
