This will be a full-time direct hire opportunity.
In this role you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the production operation in an assigned area.
You will also ensure product is produced at a high level of quality and according to established production procedures.
To be considered for this role, you will have an Associates Degree in business or manufacturing related field and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift Job Duties:
Plan and direct the production staff to ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently, and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures, and goals.
Manage staff in areas such as work scheduling, communications, employee relations, performance counseling and annual performance reviews.
Maintain safe & healthy work environment in accordance with OSHA requirements.
This includes maintaining reports, employee safety training, monthly safety checklist, safety supplies inventory, safe workstations, safe-to-use tools, and enforcing the proper use of safety equipment.
Ensure standardized operational work practices maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards, quality requirements, and production efficiency targets.
Maintain a high level of awareness to quality as it applies to process and product.
Ensure all processes and paperwork are compliant with company, customer, and industry requirements and regulations, to include quality, lot control, and materials/inventory management.
Analyze, execute, and sustain robust manufacturing processes to consistently meet quality and on-time delivery requirements.
Lead and/or participate in root cause analysis to develop methods to examine and reduce defects.
From both a strategic and tactical perspective, plan, organize, direct, and sustain all assigned manufacturing processes and procedures in a vertically integrated, high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Collaborate in development, implementation, and sustainment of standardized manufacturing measures and metrics to maintain favorable operational targets as applied to cost, labor and equipment utilization, on-time delivery, productivity, rate, and yield.
Optimize current manufacturing processes and develop pathways for more efficient and cost-effective manufacturing operations.
Analyze supply and demand, production capacity, yield, and rate to maintain on-time delivery.
Exhibit a commitment to the inspiration, development, and mentorship of employees and peers in support of company culture, 6S, Visual Management, Continuous Improvement, and Lean Six Sigma philosophies and methodologies.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION /
Experience:
Associates Degree in business or manufacturing related field and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 2 years of experience in personnel supervision and leadership in a manufacturing environment with time management, safety, risk management, and quality assurance skills.
High level of proficiency and understanding of various manufacturing equipment and processes.
Detailed knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and toolsets.
Demonstrate awareness of sales, forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning.
Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, and MRP/ERP systems.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Knowledge of first aid, safety, and OSHA requirements.
Use and be familiar with measuring tools, interpret visual aids and blueprints, and must be able to perform shop math.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
Prior experience in managing a staff (supervise, train, coach, develop, motivate, interview, hire, terminate) and leading by example.
