Carson City SECURITY About Carson Tahoe Health CTH is a not-for-profit healthcare system with 240 licensed acute care beds, fully accredited by the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ).
CTH was voted 5th most beautiful hospital in the nation nestled among the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in North Carson City and only a short drive away from world-famous Lake Tahoe & Reno.
We serve a population of over 250,000 and feature two hospitals, two urgent cares, an emergent care center, outpatient services and a provider network with 19 regional locations.
Summary The Security Officer is responsible for for ensuring the security, safety, and well-being of all Carson Tahoe Health staff, patients, visitors, and properties.
This is accomplished through actively patrolling, identifying security issues, and correcting deficiencies at all Carson Tahoe Health properties.
Responsibilities o Responds to the needs and inquiries of the Carson Tahoe Health community, and strives for a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Supports and creates a community based model and sets standards for cross-disciplinary work to improve customer service.
o Responds to all calls for service and ensures the making of reports and maintaining records.
o Promote crime prevention and utilize proactive techniques to reduce crime, theft and loss of Carson Tahoe Health property.
o Uses resources to respond to incidents, including emergencies and code gray violent events.
o Will be required to administer patient restraints when authorization is provided by an approved medical practitioner.
o Positively interact with Carson City Sheriff's Department, Nevada Department of Corrections, and other county, state, federal and out of state law enforcement agencies to build and continue a positive working relationship.
o Maintains security and access systems.
o Verifies identity of visitors and escorts to and from secure locations.
o Completes required paperwork, such as inventories, check-sheets, and reports.
o Communicate important security and safety information and incidents to next shift.
o Patrol premises to secure property and personnel.
Monitors surveillance equipment to assure security of premises.
o Respond calmly to emergencies such as visitors requiring first aid.
o Report defects and deficiencies of the equipment and vehicles immediately, check all inventory items at the beginning and end of shift, and report discrepancies to Security Supervisor.
o Conduct audits of alarms, locks and security equipment.
o Collaborates with other departments including, but not limited to, Biomed and Plant Operations, to plan facility and equipment checks by vendors as relates to life safety and security.
o Must successfully complete all required departmental and organizational training programs within 90 days.
o Performs other related duties as assigned.
